Reviews
"Marcoe has a great and
powerful voice. They have a rock-sounding rhythm that's melodic, with excellent riffs.
Songs on "Earth" reflect a serene side while generating power, like a volcanic
eruption. We believe objectively that TRUBADOR is a group that is the most pleasing to
discover." - Bryan, ONYX Metal Magazine, France
"Hard rock with serious tonalities, low omnipresence, a clear battery in mid tempo
with the whole accompanied by a serious and melodic voice. The album remains very
involving and filled with hooks." - Celtikwar, Soil Chronicles (France)
"Trubador is a band worth discovering and exploring musically. Their music was
created from the inside and not for the need to succeed. Do not expect songs from Trubador
to be your typical three-minutes in the structure. Their attitude toward record companies
says it all: "if you're a record company that cares only about 100% money and nothing
else .... F' off"." - Dimitris Karvounis, RockWay Magazine (Greece)
"You are still able to find the rare gem that breaks the mold dictated by the
mainstream, and Trubador is one such band. The self-released debut, Earth, raises the bar
for the genre. Trubador takes a melodic approach to the mid-90's sound with Earth. Every
song on the album consistently delivers the goods. This is highly recommended." -
Jacob Ball, The SODA SHOP
"TRUBADOR - The Realest band in the World! Honest, direct and delivers a promise for
the future. I somehow know they will hit it big in the future and I want to be able to say
that I was there when it started." - Jesper Astrom, © 2010 [popular
Swedish blogger]
"Here's the deal...we can be friends provided you continue playing ass-kicking music
like what you got on your profile...I didn't want to click away while I was previewing
your tunes cuz I was jammin! Would you be so kind as to send me a CD so I can play you on
the radio?" - The Rock 88.7, Cleveland OH
"I'd like to be the first to say that this album is great. Each song has a different
tone to it, which I like. Some heavy metal, some acoustic, and some early 90's sounds like
"another life." Keep it up guys, caus I'm waiting for the next album. 5/5"

ROADRUNNER ASKES FOR CD
Roadrunner Records asked for two copies of CD earth. Some of their signed artists are:
Staind, Opeth, Korn, Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Kiss, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Machine Head, Stone Sour,
Down, Hatebreed and Soulfly. We'll consider any offer that doesn't mess with our artistic
freedom.
MOVE BACK TO NASHVILLE DECEMBER 2010
We've been spending time in our old home town of Erie, PA but head back to great Nashville
in Dec. A rockin town if there ever was one. Country music? ,,, yes it's there -- hard
music?... you bet your ass it's there.
"TOP ALBUM" CD BABY's "POST GRUNGE"
We made the #1 spot in CD Baby's Post Grunge category. Thanks to those who purchased from
there. We rely on you since we're not a "signed" band at this time. It was an
honor to be in that category and place #1.
TRUBADOR HITS #3 ON ROCK CHARTS
We're recently hit number 3 on ReverbNation's Rock charts for Nashville, TN. We passed
Paramore a while back and are now nearing the number one spot for "rock" of any
genre in the greater Nashville area. Thanks for all your support
TURNS DOWN TWO RECORD DEALS
This is kind of old news but worth mentioning: We recently turned down two record company
deals. LHP Records outta England offered the band a 7 year contract & Empty Vessel
Records outta Atlanta GA offered us a 2 year record deal. We turned them down. it wasn't
exactly what we were looking for. 2 managers & 5 booking agents also made offers in
that year. |
Bio
TRUBADOR is an American rock band
based out of Nashville TN. They have melodic driven songs with originality, depth, emotion
and plenty of hard-driving drums. The singer vocalizes most songs with a heavily-felt
presence. Sometimes they lighten up with acoustic work but still remain firmly infused in
their heavier roots.
They've been described as having the sadness and haunting sounds of Black Sabbath, to the
heavy feel of Alice in Chains in some songs. Most of their fans are music listeners who
enjoy long listens, album rock, 90's heavy/grunge style and 70's metal bands. With a
requirement of strong song writing.
TRUBADOR is a rule breaker. Known frequently to break rock-song rules by having many
structures built within each song. They continually will push the boundaries of a
listener. This can range from having no chorus, to no singing on a chorus, using half
vocalized and half instrumental songs, going straight acoustic, and using a range of
lyrical content from three worded songs to 9 minute epics.
They're described best by their fans as very original, kick ass rock band with a return to
serious music writing as an art form. - "We place a lot of emotional trust in our
listeners. We know we don't always follow the rules of what your "supposed to
do" or what's popular for musicians today but we're guided more by what we feel the
song needs and how we feel when listening to it. Ultimately we leave all the trust to the
ears of our listeners and fans. They're really what it's all about for us. Getting our
music into their hands and building a relationship with them."
Record Label Offers: We've received two record label offers so far but rejected both.
We'll consider any serious record label or manager offer that doesn't control our creative
output or vision. Our music is our life. That and our beliefs. That's all we have in this
world. You wanna kno what heaven on earth is? Its getting into that groove, getting lost
in the song, having sweat pour down your face and looking up to see someone in the
audience "sharing" that moment with you man. There's no price to be paid for
that. It's not having a record label control your music, videos or God help you... having
to do a "Best Buy Tour" playing next to the headphones and mp3 players! We will
not be whored out. That's not what we're about. Having a "cool" banner on
myspace or performing on some lame 8 am, coffee-buzzed tv show with "perky"
hosts is about as far away from TRUBADOR's as you can get. We're not interested in looking
pretty or becoming a spokesperson. PS: if you're a record company that cares about 100%
money and nothing else.... F' off - marcoe , criss & jaymes
